5 Series Wins Prestigious Design Award in Detroit
Great news for the BMW brand out of Detroit this week. Yesterday, the luxury automaker issued a press release announcing that the all-new 7th generation BMW 5 Series recently earned the distinctive EyesOn Design award for Best Designed User Experience. The officially-sanctioned design awards for the North American International Auto Show, the EyesOn awards highlight the top production and concept vehicles making their worldwide debut in Detroit.
EyesOn judges were particularly impressed with the overall harmony of the 5 Series’ technology and design. Advanced new features such as the iDrive 6.0 user interface, BMW Gesture Control, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems that “clear the way towards semi-automated driving” make it the most innovative 5 Series ever.
“BMW has long been a pioneer in advanced Human Machine Interface (HMI) technologies and the new 5 Series brings together everything we have learned in our 100 year history,” said Ludwig Willisch, President and CEO of BMW of North America. “It is truly an honor to receive this prestigious award from EyesOnDesign for the Best Designed User Experience on the all-new BMW 5 Series.”
The all-new 5-Series is scheduled to begin rolling into dealerships across the country in February.
